Carriacou Regatta Festival

If you are in Grenada you might want to consider going up to Carriacou for the 47th Carriacou Regatta Festival.
The regatta has become a major Caribbean event, attracting sailors from the various neighbouring islands – Grenada, Tobago, Martinique, Antigua and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Highlights of the festival for this weekend – 3rd -6th August – include Miss Aquaval Queen Show, Miss Wet T-Shirt, Donkey Racing, Greasy Pole and numerous cultural and sporting events.

Work Boat Regatta

This weekend sees the traditional celebration of the Grenada’s work boat regatta off Grand Anse Beach. This event is very popular sailing communities from all the tri-island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique compete against each other with their locally built work boats. The boats are all handmade, bright in color with very unique names.
The work boat regatta is part of the Grenada Sailing Festival and a ‘must see’ if you are in Grenada right now.
