Discover a selection of Grenada’s finest art and craft workshops hidden away in some of the oldest buildings in the city. During this tour you’ll be able to see talented local artisans at work and find some one of a kind gifts and souvenirs to take home.
The first stop is Art Fabrik; in this batik workshop and boutique you will see designers and craftsmen creating one-of-a-kind colorful wraps, shirts, shorts and outfits. You will have an opportunity to choose from a selection of lamps, jewelry and gift boxes all made using bamboo and other indigenous raw materials.
Next door at the House of Chocolate, you‘ll learn the history and health benefits as well as having the opportunity to sample chocolate made using Grenada’s organic cocoa on their informative chocolate tour. We will view an ornate wrought-iron veranda on the outside of a historic waterfront building in what used to be an exclusive men’s club for the sugar barons and plantation owners between 1700-1800.
Leaving historic St. George’s you’ll continue to Art and Soul Gallery in Grand Anse to see the work of some of Grenada’s most talented artists. You can also take the opportunity to look for bargain gift items, or to simply relax and enjoy a drink from a selection of refreshing fruit punches on sale before your visit to Art House 473 in the rural village of Calliste. On display are works by Susan and Asher Mains who will tell you about Grenada’s participation at the acclaimed international art scene at the Biennale de Venezia!
