Full Tour Description
After a scenic drive through the Grand Etang Forest Reserve, stop at the Grenville Nutmeg Station to learn about Grenada’s famous spices. Then continue to the tour highlight – Belmont Estate Grenada, a traditional cocoa plantation dating back to the 1700s. One of Grenada’s top visitors’ attractions, the estate offers fun for the whole family. Learn about the history of the estate and how the traditional plantation has evolved into a proudly organic and eco-friendly producer of cocoa and other crops. Your knowledgeable tour guide will demonstrate each stage of the cocoa-growing and chocolate-making process. Witness the famous ‘dancing of the cocoa’, and of course sample the award-winning chocolate! Browse the onsite museum, chocolate shop and goat dairy where little ones can pet the resident goats. Enjoy a delicious and authentic Grenadian lunch at the estate before returning south along Grenada’s east coast. Along the way, stop at La Sagesse Beach for a refreshing swim and then Egmont Point for scenic views. Rated the best local food on tour – ask about Belmont Estate’s themed lunches!
