Full Tour Description
Journey along the scenic Morne Jaloux ridge on your way to The Tower Estate, hidden between the trees. Over a hundred years old, the historic home is known as the ‘Downton Abby of Grenada’. There is much to explore both in and outside the building, and this fascinating tour offered by Caribbean Horizons will delight historians and nature enthusiasts alike. Within the Victorian-style home you’ll find beautiful antiques, fascinating memorabilia and photos that bring to life Grenada’s history. Sit back and enjoy High Tea, served on delicate china and silverware reminiscent of the 1930s and 40s. Bite into delicious sandwiches with fillings grown on the estate, cakes made with organic Grenada cocoa and many other tantalising treats, while sipping on the estate’s famous Blue Tea. After you’ve had your fill, take a tour of the estate’s organic gardens, brimming with beautiful trees, flowers, fruit and vegetables. The garden is also home to an unusual jade vine and a ylang ylang tree, whose flowers are used for making perfume. Learn about sustainable agriculture and efforts to preserve the property from your guide. At the end of the tour you can purchase organic spices, tea and chocolate as souvenirs!
