If you wonder why everywhere you look you see a sea of red, green and gold, it is because Grenada is celebrating its 38th Anniversary of Independence on 7th February 2012.
The theme this year is “Breaking all barriers, striving for greater achievements under one flag”
There is a lot happening throughout the island, we will just pick a few events:
6th February, St. Andrew
Parish Day – Cultural Fiesta/Cultural
Display/ Fire Works
7th February, 2pm: National Stadium
– Pageant
– Display by fish vendors, fishermen, farmers, tourist vendors, Maypole, Shortknee, Veiux coux, and other traditional mas
– Display of arts and craft
– Military Parade with display of national flag.
7th February, 5pm: Carenage, St. George
Cultural event and Fireworks Display
(Culmination of St. George’s Parish Day )
